Description

Adze is a series of carved scallops taken from the surface of a panel to emulate the effect of using an adze – a hand tool similar to an axe with an arched blade at right angles to the handle. There is a difference of approx. 4mm between the high and low points of the carved design. In principle the design can be carved in panel thickness starting from 8mm.

Adze is well-suited to the surface of our three-layer solid wood panels, or coloured MDF. The pattern is tileable in the standard panel size of 2400x1200mm. It can be supplied in a wide range of materials and in any size up to maximum 3600x1500mm, subject to availability of raw material.

Adze carved panels are often supplied to bespoke size to minimize the amount of waste (e.g. 650mm width). In the form of three-layer solid wood panels, they are most often produced using panels of shorter length in order to take advantage of lower m2 price & improved availability of raw material.
